Raipur. Members of Parliament from their constituencies met with South East Central Railway General Manager Tarun Prakash at the Raipur Railway Division today. The MPs expressed their displeasure over the slow progress of the Raipur and Durg station redevelopment work. DRM Dayanand’s explanation of the delay was technical.
Raipur MPs Brijmohan Agrawal, Mahesh Kashyap, Bhojraj Nag, and Roopkumari Chaudhary were present at the meeting with South East Central Railway General Manager Tarun Prakash. Various pending projects, including the Raipur, Bilaspur, Ambikapur, Jagdalpur, and Raoghat railway lines, were discussed in detail. In particular, the construction of the Amrit Railway Stations in Raipur and Durg was targeted for completion by December 2027.
During the meeting, the MPs expressed their displeasure over the slow progress of the Raipur and Durg station redevelopment work. They stated that the pace of work in the initial phases was not as expected, leading to public dissatisfaction. DRM Dayanand clarified that several technical issues related to the drawings and design had arisen during the initial stages of the project, which the MPs expressed displeasure over. These technical issues impacted the pace of work.
He stated that the revised drawings and design process has now been completed, and further work will proceed at a faster pace. Periodic reviews will be conducted to ensure the project is completed within the stipulated timeframe. This was the first meeting of the year, in which issues such as station development, passenger amenities, cleanliness, train operations, and improving the passenger experience were discussed in detail. An agreement was reached to resubmit proposals for some pending projects to the Railway Board.
