Madhya Pradesh: Pre-monsoon activity remains vigorous, resulting in ongoing rainfall and strong winds across several parts of the state. On Sunday, rain was recorded in multiple districts, including Bhopal; wind speeds exceeded 70 km/h in parts of the Bhopal and Indore divisions, disrupting normal life.
In light of these changing weather conditions, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a special warning for the next two days. The department forecasts a likelihood of rain in Bhopal and Gwalior, accompanied by strong winds blowing at speeds of 50 to 60 km/h. Authorities have advised the public to remain alert and avoid unnecessary travel.
An ‘Orange Alert’ for strong winds has been issued for Monday for the Agar Malwa, Rajgarh, and Sehore districts. These areas are likely to experience sudden weather changes, heavy rain, and storm-like conditions. Local disaster management teams have been placed on high alert.
According to the IMD forecast, rainfall is also expected in several other districts of the state during the afternoon. These include Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior, Sheopur, Morena, Bhind, Datia, Shivpuri, Guna, Ashoknagar, Vidisha, Raisen, Narmadapuram, Betul, Harda, Khandwa, Burhanpur, Dewas, Shajapur, Ratlam, Neemuch, Mandsaur, Chhindwara, Pandhurna, Seoni, Balaghat, Mandla, Dindori, and Anuppur.
Meteorologists state that this situation is part of a typical yet active pre-monsoon weather pattern, driven by moisture influx from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea. This is causing unstable weather, strong winds, and rainfall across various parts of the state.
Following Sunday’s rainfall, a drop in temperature was recorded in several areas, providing residents with some relief from the heat. However, incidents such as uprooted trees and disruptions to the power supply were reported in some areas due to strong winds.
The administration has urged citizens to heed weather department warnings and avoid venturing into open areas or staying near weak structures. Farmers have also been advised to secure their crops, as there is a risk of damage caused by the strong winds.
Overall, this pre-monsoon activity in Madhya Pradesh is likely to continue for the next few days, bringing rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds to various parts of the state.
