More than 13 lakh 34 thousand farmers sold paddy

Raipur. Procurement of paddy from farmers at support price is continuing in the state since November 1. This campaign of paddy procurement will continue till 31 January 2024. So far, 63 lakh 22 thousand 32 metric tonnes of paddy has been purchased from 13 lakh 34 thousand 119 farmers in the state at support price. In lieu of this, a payment of Rs 14 thousand 33 crore has been made to the farmers under the bank linking system. Along with paddy procurement, paddy lifting for custom milling is going on in the state.

Till now, DO has been issued for lifting of 51 lakh 24 thousand 619 tonnes of paddy, against which 38 lakh 57 thousand 479 tonnes of paddy has been lifted by the millers. The Secretary of the Food Department has instructed the millers to collect the paddy expeditiously and also to deposit the custom milled rice regularly. Custom milling rice is currently being taken by the Civil Supplies Corporation. Rice from the central pool will also start being deposited in FCI from January 1. Millers have also been instructed to immediately deposit the remaining rice quantity of last year’s custom milling.
