Money and power are needed to win elections: Political parties

Maharashtra: There is a perception among political parties and candidates that winning elections requires money and power along with voters. However, the illusion of candidates that money can do anything is often dispelled after the election results are announced; but candidates believe till the end in using force to pressurize voters. That is why politicians nurture such people. There was a time when winning elections in Pune required someone’s support. Once the wrestlers in training were engaged in campaigning, the candidate’s victory was considered certain. Now this journey of election campaigning has reached criminal gangs.

Once there was a Talaami’s Agar in Pune. Once the Talaami’s support was obtained, the candidate’s victory was a formality. When the wrestlers went out to campaign, the voters came under pressure. That is why politicians focused on keeping the wrestlers with them. Every candidate was in a struggle to get the support of some Talaami. If he was successful, half the election battle was won. Support for the candidate was also encouraged. This kind of thing started from the time when Pune was a municipality. However, with time some of the talami in Pune started ending and wrestlers also started appearing less in the campaign.

Once upon a time rehearsals were happening at many places in Pune. Many malls have been built by these trainees. In that sense, Pune was also a hub of talent. Guruji Talim, Chinchechi Talim, Bunkar Talim, Nimbalkar Talim, Chajyapir Talim, Gulse Talim, Jagobdada Talim, Subhedar Talim, Nagarkar Talim, Khalkar Talim, Lokhande Talim, Gokul Vastad Talim, Kunjir Talim, Kashigir Talim, Papa Vastad Talim, Mohanlal Vastad Talim, Veerachi Talim, Shivram Dada Talim, Doke Talim, Jotachi Talim, Patvekari Talim, Fani Ali Talim etc wrestlers
