Manendragarh. After being found guilty of molesting a minor victim by blocking her way, the court of Additional Sessions Judge FTC (POCSO) Manendragarh Anand Prakash Dixit has sentenced the accused to 3 years of rigorous imprisonment. Giving information on behalf of the prosecution, Special Public Prosecutor GS Rai said that on the day of the incident, October 6, 2022, at around 9 pm, the victim was coming home alone after having dinner from her elder father’s house, when the accused blocked the path of the victim near the temple. With full intention he was forcibly taking her hand and arm and pulling her towards the field.
When the victim raised an alarm, the accused pressed her mouth and threatened to kill her. On the basis of the written complaint of the victim’s father, the Kelhari Police registered the crime under various sections of the IPC and Section 8 of the Act and presented the charge sheet in the court. After finding the accused Kapil Panika, 20, resident of village Pasauri under Kelhari police station guilty, the judge sentenced him to 1 month simple imprisonment for the crime of section 341, 2 years rigorous imprisonment for the crime of section 354 and Section 8 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act 2012. The crime was punished with 3 years rigorous imprisonment and fine in all sections.
