Bhubaneswar: A preparatory meeting for the celebration of the Odisha government’s second anniversary was held at Lok Seva Bhavan on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister directed that the anniversary celebrations be observed in a simple and unostentatious manner in view of the prevailing crisis situation in West Asia.
Instead of organising large-scale events, Majhi emphasised the need to focus on the achievements of the government during the past two years and ensure that information about welfare initiatives reaches every citizen of the state.
Officials informed the meeting that the state government’s second anniversary will be celebrated on June 12, while a series of programmes will be organised across the state and district levels from June 12 to June 21.
The programmes will be conducted under seven themes highlighting the achievements of different departments — Shakti Odisha, Samruddha Krushi Odisha, Sustha Odisha, Nirmana Odisha, Utkarsha Odisha, Jana Shakti Odisha and Kaushala Odisha. The government’s vision and developmental roadmap for the period between 2026 and 2036 will also be incorporated into the programmes.
The Chief Minister directed that the achievements of the government should be widely publicised through print, electronic and social media, along with the publication of leaflets and booklets. He also stressed the need to highlight how common people are benefiting from various welfare schemes being implemented by the government.
Majhi further instructed departmental ministers to hold press conferences outlining the achievements of their respective departments over the last two years and publish departmental success reports and informational booklets.
He said the initiative would help communicate the government’s vision for the state’s development and welfare measures directly to the people.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari, Works and Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Minister Rabi Narayan Naik, Chief Minister’s Advisor Prakash Mishra, Chief Secretary Anu Garg, and senior secretaries of various departments.
