Aden: Yemen’s Houthi group attacked a Singapore-flagged ship in the Gulf of Aden with missiles. The Singapore-flagged cargo ship Propel Fortune was hit by missiles about 50 nautical miles off the coast of Aden, an official told Xinhua news agency, requesting anonymity. There were no immediate reports of casualties among the ship’s crew in the attack. United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations has confirmed the incident.
The Houthi group has not yet claimed responsibility for the attack. The attack follows a similar missile attack by the Houthis on Wednesday against the Barbados-flagged “True Confidence” cargo ship. The Houthi group claimed it was an American ship. According to US Central Command, three members of the ship’s crew were killed and four others were seriously injured in that attack. It is noteworthy that Houthi has started this attack in protest against Israeli attacks in Gaza.
