Raipur. A staff bus crushed a cyclist on the road about one km away from Mantralaya in Nava Raipur. The rider got thrown and the cycle got stuck in the wheels. Because of this the bus is standing at the same spot till the time these lines are written. Information has been received that a child was also accompanying the rider, the child is also injured. Both are said to be villagers of the area. This incident is due to over speed of these buses. More than 65 low floor and mini buses arrive daily from the Ministry.
I don’t know why the drivers are in such a hurry that despite being behind each other on the roads of Nava Raipur, they end up over speeding. There is no speed control despite the interruptions of the officers sitting inside. To top it off, issues regarding maintenance of these buses have also come up from time to time. Regarding this incident that took place today, the Ministry of Railways staff said that the amendment made in the transport policy regarding hit and run has been done to take action against such careless drivers and to protect the innocent pedestrians.
