Vijayawada Vijayawada: The state government has prepared an action plan to complete the construction of 1.28 lakh houses in the next 100 days, said Housing and Information and Public Relations Minister Kolusu Parthasarathy. Addressing reporters at the state secretariat on Wednesday, he said an action plan for the next 100 days has been prepared as per the direction of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. Rs 2,520 crore is needed for the construction of 1.28 lakh houses. We have set a target of constructing 8.02 lakh houses by next March. Also, we will ensure phase-wise conversion of 6.08 lakh houses. It has been decided to use flyash generated by thermal power plants in Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Nellore and Rayalaseema for the development of layouts generated by thermal power in the state, he said. Officials have been directed to complete the pending houses as soon as possible and complete the reconciliation process of house construction by the end of July. He said that from now onwards, the progress of housing in the State would be reviewed every month. Earlier, while addressing a review meeting with the officers of the Housing Department, the Minister said that the Government was committed to provide housing to the poor and complete the process of allotment of houses to every eligible family. He took stock of the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban). The officers were advised to visit the field to understand the needs and problems of the beneficiaries. Regarding the vacancies in the Department, he asked the senior officers to fill them up through deputation so as to ensure required manpower in the Department.
