Minister Gajendra Yadav honored the players on National Sports Day

Raipur. Raipur. On the occasion of National Sports Day, a sports talent award ceremony was organized at Hemchand Yadav University, Durg. On this occasion, School Education, Village Industries and Legislative Minister Gajendra Yadav was present as the chief guest. He administered the oath of sportsmanship to the students and called upon them to participate in some sports activity every day for a healthy lifestyle. In his address, Minister Yadav said that the birth anniversary of Hockey Magician Major Dhyanchand is celebrated as National Sports Day across the country. Sharing information about the Fit India Movement started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he inspired the students to make sports an integral part of their lives. In the ceremony, 34 students of the university were honored for their excellent performance in national level sports competitions.

Wishing them all the best, Minister Shri Yadav expressed confidence that the players of Durg will now make their mark not only at the national level but also at the international level. He informed that infrastructure facilities are being continuously developed for sports talents in Durg district. There is a proposal by BCCI to develop Ravishankar Stadium as an international cricket stadium. The construction of a modern badminton court has been completed and will be inaugurated soon. The construction of a swimming pool is underway on Station Road, a state-of-the-art gym is being planned in Nayapara and a jogging track is also going to be ready soon near Nana-Nani Park. Durg MP Vijay Baghel, MLA Lalit Chandrakar, University Vice Chancellor Dr. Sanjay Tiwari, former Vice Chancellor N.P. Dixit, Science College Principal Dr. Ajay Singh, Science College representatives Shivendra Parihar and Arun Singh along with a large number of teachers and students were present as special guests at the felicitation ceremony.
