Bilaspur. On the instructions of the Collector, the Mineral Department is continuously taking action against illegal mineral excavation and transportation in the district. In this episode, a thorough investigation was conducted of vehicles transporting minerals in Chakarbhatta, Rahangi, Masturi, Malhar, Chilhati, Jondhra, Udayband, Amaldiha and other areas. During the investigation, action was taken against 4 vehicles transporting minerals without a valid transit pass. In this, one Hiva was found loaded with illegal ballast, two Hiva illegal Murum and one tractor was found involved in illegal transportation of clay bricks.
Let us tell you that the condition of the lifeline Arpa river is worrying. Illegal sand mining takes place at many places at night in this 140 km long river from Gaurela Pendra Marwahi to Bilaspur. Water is not able to stay in the river due to illegal mining. In the Municipal Corporation area, sand is stolen at night from Sendri to Domukhani, Dayalband and Koni. Despite the action of the administration, the mafia is mining sand openly.
All these vehicles have been seized and kept in Chakarbhatta and Pachpedi police stations. Apart from this, a JCB machine was caught while illegally excavating gravel in Balwa village Rahangi area, which has been seized and kept for security in Chakarbhatta police station.
