Mineral department seizes 9 Hiva and JCB, action on illegal excavation

Durg. The team of Mineral Department has registered nine cases in the matter of illegal mineral excavation and transportation in a week. In these cases, 9 vehicles engaged in transportation including one JCB carrying out mineral excavation have been seized. A case has been registered under the Mineral Act and a fine of around Rs 3 lakh has been proposed.

According to the information, the team of the department is continuously raiding different areas of the district and investigating. The team raided village Thanaud and caught a JCB carrying out illegal mineral excavation. A vehicle transporting minerals was also seized from the spot.

Similarly, after seeing raids in different areas across the district, vehicles transporting illegal minerals were also investigated. During investigation, illegal mineral transportation was found in 8 highways without royalty slip at various places in Kumhari, Utai, Machandur and Anjora police station area. Of these, mud was being transported in 4 vehicles, sand in 2 and limestone and soil in 1 vehicle each. These vehicles have been confiscated along with the minerals and have been parked in the police custody in the concerned police station premises.
