Raipur. The central government has released Basic Animal Husbandry Statistics (BAHS) 2024. According to this, milk production in Chhattisgarh has increased by 8.62 percent in the year 2023-24.
In terms of annual growth rate, Chhattisgarh ranks after West Bengal (9.76 percent), Jharkhand (9.04), and Assam (8.53). At the same time, five states remained on top during this period. Uttar Pradesh – 16.21 percent, Rajasthan – 14.51 percent, Madhya Pradesh – 8.91 percent, Gujarat – 7.65 percent, Maharashtra – 6.71 percent. Milk production in India has increased by 3.78 percent in the year 2023-24. India’s total milk production is estimated to be 239.30 million tonnes in the year 2023-24. This is 5.62 percent more than the previous 10 years. In the year 2014-15, milk production in India was 146.3 million tons. According to the report, India is the largest milk producing country in the world. Milk production in India has increased by an average of 6 percent in the last 10 years, while the global average is 2 percent.
