Tamil Nadu: Tamil Nadu School Education Minister A. Rajmohan has said that there may be differences in political views, but everyone should work together in the field of education. He stressed that education is the basis of progress of the society and the state and all parties have to remain united in this direction.
The statement came during a special event organized at Amma Mansion, Ribbon Building Complex in Chennai on Wednesday. This program was organized by the School Education Department, in which incentive money was given to the students who scored highest marks in 10th and Plus Two examinations. Along with this, schools which failed completely were also encouraged and a felicitation ceremony was organized for the 24 headmasters responsible for the maximum number of failed students.
The program was presided over by Chennai Mayor R. Priya, while Deputy Mayor M. Maheshkumar was also present on the occasion. Commissioner G.S. Sameeran welcomed all the guests present in the program. In this event, special discussions were held on improving the education system and improving the performance of students.
Minister A. Rajmohan in his address said that teachers are the best guides and friends of the students. He said that students should understand that education shapes their future and is the strongest medium to move ahead in life.
He appealed to the teachers to not only focus on bright students but also encourage those students who learn slowly. The Minister said that every student has his own potential and with the right guidance every student can improve.
He also said that the aim of the education system should not be just exam results but holistic development of every student. The role of teachers is most important in this, because they can identify the talents of the students and give them the right direction.
The minister also clarified in the program that the government is making continuous efforts to improve the education sector. No matter how many differences there are in political views, everyone has to work together in an important field like education so that the future of the students can be bright.
The officials and teachers participating in the program also shared various suggestions to improve the education system and improve the performance of the students. Many senior officials of the education department were also present on this occasion.
This program is being considered an important initiative towards improving the quality of education in the state and motivating the students.
