Meeting of task force formed for prevention of child labor held

Baran: A review meeting of the task force formed under the campaign being run in the district to prevent child labor was held on Thursday in the Mini Secretariat Auditorium under the chairmanship of District Collector Rohitashv Singh Tomar. In the meeting, the District Collector took information about the action taken so far by the BOCW Task Force. He said that teams should conduct surprise inspections of industrial units, hotels and restaurants in the district and submit area-wise reports of the areas where inspection has been done. The District Collector said that wherever children below the age of 14 years are made to work in factories, mines and risky professions, the concerned department should take immediate action and ban them. He said that there is a special need for monitoring to ensure that children are not employed in labor at various industrial units, hotels etc. Such units should be identified where child labor is employed and strict action should be taken against them. In every case of child labour, FIR should be registered on time and rehabilitation of children should be ensured. He said that to prevent child labour, he gave instructions to the officials of Social Justice, Child Empowerment, Police and Labor Department to inspect from time to time and take necessary action. The District Collector said that regular counseling and follow up should be done with the parents to ensure that the children do not get involved in child labour. For this, all the agencies should work in coordination. Labor Welfare Officer Shankar Lal Meghwal said that information about child labor employment can be given on police helpline number 100 and child helpline number 1098. The meeting was informed about the surprise inspections conducted so far as well as the rehabilitation activities. On this occasion, Additional Superintendent of Police Ram Kalyan Meena, DFO Anil Yadav, LDM Gopal Ram Meghwal and other officers were present.
