Bhubaneswar: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has appointed Meenakshi Bahinipati as the president of the Mahila Congress of Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee.
According to All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary K.C. Venugopal, Meenakshi Bahinipati has been appointed as Odisha Mahila Congress president with immediate effect.
Meenakshi expressed her gratitude to OPCC president Bhakta Charan Das, party’s State in-charge Ajay Kumar Lallu and All India Mahila Congress President Alka Lamba for her new appointment.
Meenakshi also said that she will work to strengthen the women’s organizations in Odisha and fight for women’s rights by following the ideals and philosophy of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi.
This is the second time that Bahinipati has been posted as the Odisha Mahila Congress president. Prior to this, she was also party’s Koraput district president for 10 years. She was also the OPCC General Secretary and was elected as the Chairperson of Koraput Municipality.
