Medchal: Fire Breaks Out at Chemical Factory

Hyderabad: On Tuesday, May 19, a massive fire broke out at Org Chemicals—a chemical factory located in Medchal—sending thick plumes of smoke billowing across the area.

A fire officer from the Shameerpet station stated, “Three fire tenders have been deployed to extinguish the blaze; the exact time of the fire’s outbreak and the estimated extent of the damage are currently being assessed.”

As of now, there are no reports of any injuries or casualties. The cause of the fire remains unknown.

Previous Incident:
On May 18, at approximately 2:00 PM, a fire broke out in a residential building in Khajaguda. An official from the Vattinagulapally fire station reported that some scrap materials kept in an open space on the ground floor had caught fire, likely due to negligent smoking.

No one was present at the scene when the incident occurred; consequently, no injuries were sustained. The official noted, “It was a minor fire and was extinguished within about five minutes. Traffic movement was disrupted for a short while due to the smoke.”
