Minority Association State President Md. Yakub Pasha has expressed his deep anger over the increase in the number of pigs in the Muslim cemetery at Nataraj Center in Palwancha town, as well as the fact that pigs are being roasted, slaughtered and sold there. He complained to the District Collector and Mayor on Tuesday. He said that this cemetery, which has a history of about 75 years, has the graves of Muslim ancestors, and it is customary for family members to go there every Friday and during holy festivals like Ramadan and Bakrid to offer floral tributes and pray.
However, some pig farmers have turned the cemetery into a barrier for their business, which is seriously hurting the sentiments of Muslims. Although the authorities had previously installed fencing around the cemetery to provide security, some people have removed it and are conducting business activities by desecrating the holy place. He urged the district collector and mayor to respond immediately and take strict action against the pig farmers, taking steps to protect the cemetery and protect the sentiments of Muslims, in view of the special prayers of Muslims to be held on the 21st of this month during the holy month of Ramadan.
