Maruti Suzuki is making its car safer in India and the company is introducing 6 airbags across models as standard. Maruti Suzuki Fronx gets 6 airbags as standard. Post this update, the price of Fronx ranges between Rs 7.59 lakh and Rs 12.95 lakh (ex-showroom). The base variants- Sigma and Delta trims now get six airbags. Until now, top three trims – Delta+, Zeta and Alpha got six airbags.
The update will be beneficial for those who plan to purchase the base Sigma and Delta trims. ESC as well as hill-hold assist is also offered as a standard update. The hatchback also gets ISOFIX anchorages along with 3-point seatbelts with reminder for all passengers. Along with standard safety update, there has been a uniform price hike of Rs 4000 except for Delta+ petrol variants.
Maruti Suzuki Fronx is now offered in two engine options. There is a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine that offers 100hp/ 147Nm, along with 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine that generates 90hp/113Nm. Both engines get 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. There is an option for AMT for the naturally aspirated petrol engine while the turbo-petrol version gets torque converter automatic option. In case users want to opt for a CNG kit, they can go for the base Sigma and Delta trim.
The company chairman had earlier announced that all cars offered in India will have 6 airbags as standard by the end of 2025.
