Entertainment: Amidst criticism that “The Raja Saab” didn’t fully live up to expectations, director Maruthi expressed complete confidence in the film’s outcome, citing its opening day box office collection as proof of its impact. Speaking at the film’s success meet today, Maruthi said he was very happy with the result and called the film a “king-sized blockbuster.”
Speaking on the feedback received from Prabhas’ fans, Maruthi clarified that the response is being misunderstood. He said, “Prabhas’ fans are not disappointed; they are dissatisfied. They are still understanding the story.” The director revealed that several of Prabhas’ fan association presidents spoke to him personally and praised the film, adding that such mixed reviews are common for Prabhas’ releases on the first day. He added, “They asked me to wait 10 days and see how the film performs at the box office.”
Maruthi also confirmed that changes have been made to the second half of the film based on initial feedback. “We’ve enhanced the second half, and starting today’s 6 p.m. show, Prabhas’s old look will be added to the film,” he said, assuring the audience that a lot of hard work went into making the film.
In a thank you note, Maruthi thanked Prabhas for trusting a mid-range director like him and appreciated the fans’ support. With the holiday season underway, it remains to be seen whether these changes and the director’s comments will have a positive impact on The Raja Saab’s box office.
