Ranchi. Due to a strange condition of the groom during the marriage ceremony, the marriage was postponed and the wedding procession had to return empty handed. The incident took place in Ketar police station area of Garhwa district of Jharkhand. On Wednesday, the marriage procession of Anjani Kumar, resident of Dhurki police station area of Garhwa, had gone to Ketar block. After welcoming the wedding procession, Jaimal and Dwarpuja, when the time came for the ceremony of donating vermilion to the bride, the groom put a condition that he would switch off the lights and complete the ceremony in solitude. People from both the bride and groom’s side tried to convince him, but he remained adamant on his condition. Ultimately the Panchayat met and with the consent of both the parties the marriage was postponed. The groom’s side had to pay Rs 5.13 lakh to the bride’s side.
