WASHINGTON: Actress and producer Margot Robbie recently shared details about her new endeavor and compared it to the complexities of the film industry. According to Deadline, the ‘Barbie’ star has ventured into the business world with the launch of her own gin brand, Papa Salt.
The Australian star has teamed up with her husband and business partner Tom Ackerley and three close friends to market Papa Salt.
According to Deadline’s report, Robbie described the process of creating and marketing her gin as “refreshing,” noting its contrast with the unpredictable nature of the movie business.
“Movies are a crazy business, where you’re selling something that’s not tangible, it’s an idea,” Robbie explained.
“You have no idea how much it’s going to make, who’s going to see it, whether they’re going to see it or how it’s going to be received. It feels a lot more straightforward, it’s easier to predict things,” she added.
According to Deadline, Margot Robbie’s production company, LuckyChap Entertainment, has achieved significant success since its founding in 2014. The company’s diverse slate of films, which includes acclaimed titles such as ‘I, Tonya,’ ‘Promising Young Woman,’ and ‘Barbie,’ have garnered numerous accolades, including 25 Academy Award nominations and billions in box-office earnings.
Meanwhile, she is set to produce an upcoming project by Warner Bros., which is reportedly a comic book package for ‘Evangeline.’
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the project, which was revealed last month, has caught the studio’s attention, marking a potential landing spot for the adaptation. The film will reportedly be directed by Olivia Wilde, best known for her work in ‘Don’t Worry Darling,’ with LuckyChap Productions’ Margot Robbie, Tom Ackerley, and Josey McNamara on board as producers. According to People magazine, Margot Robbie is also set to bring another beloved classic to the silver screen with a live-action adaptation of ‘Monopoly’. Along with her LuckyChap partners Josey McNamara and husband Tom Ackerley, she is heading the project under her production banner. Apart from ‘Monopoly’, LuckyChap is also venturing into the world of video game adaptations with an upcoming film based on ‘The Sims’. (ANI)
