Mahasamund. On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, a city marathon race was organized from 7:30 am on 12th January under the joint aegis of Sports and Youth Welfare and Flow Navyuvak Mandal Mahasamund from Vishal Mega Mart Complex BTI Road to Macheva Helipad Ground. Chief guest MLA Yogeshwar Raju Sinha flagged off the runners in which councilors Manish Sharma and Tilak Sao were present. Runners participated in the marathon with great enthusiasm.
In which Daulat Ram Diwan and Bhoj Ram Sahu from district Baloda Bazar, Manish Nishad from district Raipur, Mohit Nishad from Rajnandgaon, runner from district Balod along with Gram Panchayat Ganeshpur Basna of Mahasamund district, Achola, Khamtarai Sirpur, Kukradih, Kesaldih, Raja Savaiya Khurd. A total of 165 runners participated from , Gudrudih, Garhseoni, Generation, Tongo Panikala Bagbahra, Soram, Singhi, Bokramuda Kala, Bakma, Hadaband, Macheva, Bemcha, Bhurka, Lafinkala, Barondabazar, Bhoring and urban bodies.
In the prize distribution ceremony, guest sports officer Mr. Manoj Dhritalhare, Suresh Shukla social worker, Sitosh Julfe, Khagesh Tarak, Narayan Tiwari, Rajesh Dadsena, Sadhuram Dhruv, Drona Patel gave awards to the winning players. In which the first prize of Rs 5100 was received by Ashutosh Kumar Bind Bhilai District Durg. Second prize of Rs 3100 was received by Dwarkadhish Verma, District Rajnandgaon.
