Manipur: Police station personnel destroy opium cultivation

Manipur: Poppy cultivation in Kadi-IV and Quilong-II of Tamei sub-division of Tamenglong district was destroyed by the personnel of Tamei police station in Tamenglong district on Thursday. At least 2 to 3 acres of poppy plants including nursery bedding plants were destroyed in Kadi-IV, while at least 2 acres were destroyed in Quilong-II.

Chief Minister N Biren Singh congratulated Superintendent of Police Luikham Lanmiao and personnel of Tamei police station on his Facebook account. He said, “Congratulations to the SP, Tamenglong and Tamei police personnel for successfully destroying the poppy cultivation in Kadi-IV and Quilong areas. I appreciate your efforts to eradicate illegal poppy cultivation and drug trade from our state of Manipur. We will not rest until these poppy cultivations and drug menace are completely eradicated from Manipur.”
