Education System: Lady Hardinge Medical College is considered to be the first medical college for women in India. Its tuition fee is Rs 1,655 per year. Lady Hardinge Medical College is located in Delhi. The year was 1911, when King George V came to India. He announced the transfer of the capital from Calcutta to Delhi. After this, Baron Charles Hardinge, the then Viceroy of British India, moved from Calcutta to Delhi with his wife Winifred Selina Stuart. He realized that there were no medical colleges in Delhi and there were no women in the medical field. This college was founded in 1914 in honor of the visit of Her Majesty Queen Mary in 1911-12. Lady Hardinge, the wife of the then Viceroy, first took the initiative to start this medical college for women deprived of education. It was formally inaugurated on 17 February 1916 by the then Viceroy Lord Hardinge. The first principal of this medical school was Dr. Kate Platt. Initially the duration of the course was seven years. In 1935 it was reduced to five years. This medical college has been affiliated to Delhi University since 1950.

Lady Hardinge Medical College has a total of 240 seats, out of which 189 seats are under the state or Delhi University quota. The number of all India quota is 36, while 15 are INGO quota. Scheduled castes and tribes as well as differently-abled get reservation as per rules.

Tuition amount can be deposited online through net banking, credit card, debit card or offline through e-challan. Students can also deposit annual tuition at the time of registration. Students can deposit the amount in installments subject to university policy.
