Mangaluru: The newly constructed floating sea bridge on the coast of Panambur was inaugurated by Karnataka Assembly Speaker U T Khadar. The bridge will be a new attraction on the beach, which has seen an increasing influx of tourists in recent years. This is the second floating bridge in the coastal gem districts, the first bridge was inaugurated at Malpe beach in Udupi. Tourist Development Committee of Kadali Beach, a unit of Bhandari Builders, constructed the 125 meter long bridge, which was inaugurated on Wednesday. They have deployed a total of 12 escorts and additional security personnel to guarantee the safety of the tourists. A maximum of 50 people can contemplate the sunset in the floating bridge. Khader, in his speech, said he would hold talks with Tourism Minister HK Patil to give priority to the development of beach tourism. Beach Development Committee partners Laxmish Bhandari and Rajesh Hukkeri were also present.
