A court in Kathi on Sunday ordered the Trinamool leader’s girlfriend and friend to be sent to police custody for five days in the unnatural death case. The youths were questioned in two sessions on Monday. The investigators first separated the two persons and then made them sit face to face and asked them several questions. Police sources said the arrested youth kept avoiding answering many questions of the investigators but the girl answered almost every question. However, the investigators claimed that most of their answers were ‘confusing’ at first. However, as time passed, the accused suffered a mental breakdown following police interrogation. Investigators said the arrested man was aware of the dispute between Abul and his uncle over a land issue. But he still stuck to the ‘theory’ of Abul’s suicide.
