Mancherial: Collector Kumar Deepak said that preventive measures to control infectious diseases and viral fever can be taken from home itself. He, along with District Medical and Health Officer-in-charge Dr. Anitha, held a review meeting with the concerned officials on preventive measures to control the disease here on Thursday. Deepak asked the officials to take steps to prevent the spread of infectious diseases and viral fever that occur in the monsoon. He directed to prevent the increase in the mosquito population. He said that special measures would be taken to control dengue fever by running a month-long program till July 31 against vector-borne diseases.
The Collector directed the officials to spray mosquito repellent in stagnant water and shift people living in low-lying areas to safer places by constantly monitoring the flood situation at regular intervals. He asked the officials to carry out chlorination in open wells and water tanks. He asked the officials to visit the kitchens, classrooms and toilets of government hostels and ensure cleanliness. He urged people to drink warm water and keep the premises clean. He asked the officials to create awareness about the diseases among people by using publicity teams. He said arrangements have been made at Telangana Diagnostic Hub for diagnosis of dengue and other vector-borne diseases. He advised people to avail the facility.Mother and Child Hospital Resident Medical Officer Dr Bhishma, District Surveillance Officer Dr Faiyaz Khan, District Welfare Officer K Chinnaiya, Medical Officer Dr Swastika Jaiswal, Municipal Commissioner and MPDO were present.
