Mancherial: Maram Devendra Reddy, head of the mining engineering department at Government Polytechnic College-Bellampalli, was recently awarded the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in mining engineering by the Rajiv Gandhi College of Engineering, Research and Technology (RGCERT) in Chandrapur, affiliated to Gondwana University, Maharashtra.
Devendra successfully researched on the topic titled “Investigation of the effect of stemming on blasting performance in underground excavation”. He defended the thesis on May 9 and qualified to be awarded the PhD degree by RGCERT on May 30. He conducted the research under the supervision of Professor Manish D Uttarwar of RGCERT. He thanked his supervisor Professor Manish and teachers. His colleagues at the polytechnic college congratulated him. He hails from the remote Jaggaiyapalli village under Jonnala Malayala village of Kalvassirirampur mandal in Peddapalli district.
