Man arrested for duping people by promising to make ATM cards

Raipur. As directed by Inspector General Amresh Mishra, action is being taken against those accused of all types of cyber fraud. Applicant Sanjay Sahni, a resident of Shankar Nagar, Civil Lines police station, searched for a new State Bank of India ATM card through Google search.
A mobile number was found in the Google search, and upon contacting it, a link to an app was sent. After installing the app, the app was requested for the last six digits of the old ATM card and ₹8 lakh was withdrawn from the applicant’s bank account. Based on the report, Crime No. 496/24 was registered at Civil Lines police station under sections 318(4) of the IPC, 66(C), and 66(D) of the IT Act, and the investigation is being conducted by the Cyber Range Police Station, Raipur. During the investigation, information was obtained from Google, the bank, and the mobile service provider company, and technical analysis was used to identify the accused. Following a planned raid in 24 Parganas, West Bengal, accused Abdullah Lashkar was arrested. Reports have also been filed against the arrested accused in Haryana and Uttarakhand. Information regarding other bank accounts has been obtained from the arrested accused’s interrogation and his mobile phone, which is being analyzed. The arrested accused has been remanded in judicial custody.
