Madhya Pradesh: Urban Administration Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya expressed concern during the Malwa Utsav held at Lal Bagh grounds that the event, though festive, lacked an authentic representation of Malwa culture.
Addressing the gathering from the main stage along with event organiser and MP Shankar Lalwani, Vijayvargiya stressed the need to showcase the traditional dress, food and language of Malwa in future events.
He recalled childhood memories of visiting bazaars with his father, where traders proudly wore traditional Malvi attire, including the iconic Malvi turban and sherwani. “Today, you hardly see anyone in that attire. People have forgotten the Malvi turban and even those who knew how to tie it are disappearing,” he said.
