Ingredients required for making puttu
Rice flour – about one and a half cups
Carrot chopped – 1/2 cup
Tricolor capsicum – 1/2 cup
Chopped coriander – 2 tbsp
Grated fresh coconut – 1 cup
salt – as per taste
To make Puttu, firstly fry the rice flour lightly. After this sprinkle some water in the flour and mix it. Now add chopped capsicum, green coriander, chopped carrots and salt as per taste to this flour and mix well. Then take a cup of fresh coconut and grate it. After this take a pot of kuttu or idli maker and put grated fresh coconut in it. After this put the mixture of puttu on top and cover it. Now place the container of puttu on the lid of this cooker and cook it in steam for about 15 minutes. After this turn off the gas and leave it for 15 minutes. After cooking for 15 minutes, it can be taken off and served with coconut chutney or sambar. It can be used any time from lunch to evening snack.
