Make sure to contribute in making the tribal society drug free: MLA Neelkanth Tekam

Narayanpur. On the occasion of Tribal Pride Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the program through virtual medium from Jamui district of Bihar. He said that India’s freedom struggle was strengthened by many movements carried out by tribal communities. Tribal movements in different parts of the country against British colonial rule joined the national freedom struggle and inspired Indians across the country. To make the coming generations aware of their sacrifices for the country, the government has declared 15 November as Tribal Pride Day. This day is celebrated as the birth anniversary of Shri Birsa Munda. Today the 150th birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda was celebrated across the country, who is worshiped as God by tribal communities across the country. Birsa Munda bravely fought against the country against the exploitative system of the British colonial system and led the movement against British oppression. The sentiments of sacrificing everything in the interest of justice have been a characteristic of tribal society. The history of the freedom struggle also includes many streams of rebellions carried out by tribal communities. While addressing from Jamui district of Bihar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the people on Tribal Day, Kartik Purnima, Dev Diwali, Guru Nanak Prakash Parv and said that the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Lord Birsa Munda will be celebrated for the next one year. On this occasion, the Prime Minister also announced the construction of Birsa Munda Janjati Gaurav Upvan in tribal dominated areas. Prime Minister Shri Modi said that the tribal society is also a nature worshipper, this society also has unwavering faith in Lord Ram. He said that the tribal society has made an invaluable contribution towards independence, which can never be forgotten. Prime Minister Shri Modi remembered the contribution of tribal great heroes towards the country, society and independence and said that all of us countrymen are indebted to these great heroes. Prime Minister Shri Modi gave detailed information about the schemes and programs implemented by the Government of India for the development of tribal society. Tribals live a life based on nature and also protect nature with respect. During the British rule, the people of the tribal community had fought fiercely to save the natural wealth from exploitation. Conservation of forest wealth was possible to a large extent only due to their sacrifice. In today’s time, in the era of climate change and global warming, everyone needs to learn from the lifestyle of the tribal society and their determination towards forest conservation.

On the birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released a commemorative coin of 150 and a special commemorative postage stamp in honor of Lord Birsa Munda from a program in Jamui district of Bihar. On this occasion, the Tribal Pride Day program was organized at AG Auditorium Narayanpur. In which MLA Shri Neelkanth Tekam attended as the chief guest.

The chief guest of the program, MLA Neelkanth Tekam, while paying tribute to Birsa Munda, said that today is a day of pride for all of us. The Prime Minister of the country is working to give full respect to the great heroes of the tribal society. He said that the Bastar Olympic Games are being organized by the state government to promote the state in the field of sports. On the occasion of Bhagwan Birsa Munda Jayanti, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address at the Adivasi Gaurav Diwas program in Jamui, Bihar was heard by more than 1 crore people of the country. He said that 140 crore people of India have expressed the need to adopt the basic things said by the Prime Minister. He appealed to the tribals to stay away from intoxication and said that along with thinking and contemplation, they should adopt health, education and basic facilities. More than 80 percent of the people of the tribal community live in the village, work to take the society forward with mutual public participation. Gayta, Pujari, Patel etc. live in the village, he appealed to them to use their rights, which will make an invaluable contribution in taking the society forward. For the development of Narayanpur, efforts will have to be made to fulfill the need of basic facilities like road, bridge, education, health, drinking water.
