Major crackdown on illegal Mahua liquor, 85 litres seized, smuggler arrested

Ratanpur. Ratanpur. As part of a special campaign against illegal liquor traders in view of the Holi festival, Ratanpur police station seized a total of 85 liters of raw mahua liquor from two different locations. Two accused were arrested and sent to judicial remand. A continuous campaign is being conducted under the direction of the Senior Superintendent of Police to crack down on the drug trade in the district. A special team was formed under the guidance of the Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) and Sub-Divisional Officer (Police), Kota, and under the leadership of Station House Officer Nilesh Pandey.
Police received information from an informant that illegal mahua liquor was being stored and sold in Khairkhundi and Ringwar villages. Taking the information seriously, police teams raided both villages separately. The first raid was conducted in Khairkhundi village, where a large quantity of raw mahua liquor was recovered from one accused. A subsequent raid in Ringwar village led to the arrest of another accused with illicit liquor. A total of 85 liters of raw mahua liquor was seized from both locations. Police registered a case against the accused under the Excise Act and arrested them. After the necessary legal proceedings, both were produced in court and sent to judicial custody.
Strictness in view of Holi
In view of the possibility of illegal liquor sale and drunken riots during the festival, the police administration has implemented a special surveillance system. Sensitive areas are being continuously patrolled and suspicious activities are being monitored. Police officials have clarified that strict action will continue against those involved in the manufacture, transportation, and sale of illegal liquor. Citizens have also been appealed to immediately inform the police if they become aware of any illegal liquor production or sale. This action by the Ratanpur police has created panic among illegal liquor traders in the area. The police say that maintaining peace and law and order during the festival is their priority and that any illegal activity will not be tolerated.
