Bhilai. A massive fire broke out in BSP (Bhilai Steel Plant), Asia’s largest steel plant by area, on Thursday. A fire broke out in the roughing stand of the plate mill of Bhilai Steel Plant. As soon as the information was received, fire brigade and BSP officials reached the spot. BSP firefighters brought the fire under control.
According to the information, the fire broke out late Thursday evening. Actually, the tie rod of the roughing stand of BSP’s plate mill was broken. After which a fire broke out due to leaking of hydraulic oil. The fire engulfed that entire area. This matter had come to light in the C round only two days ago, even after which the BSP management was negligent.
This is why this accident happened. The cable motor and hydraulic pipe were also burnt to ashes in the accident. It is a matter of relief that there was no loss of life due to the fire. However, the fire is likely to affect production at the roughing plate mill for 2-3 days.
