Maharashtra : With Covid-19 cases on the rise globally, Maharashtra has recorded a significant rise in active cases, jumping from 12 to 56 in a week, taking the national total to 257. Kerala leads the pack with 95 cases and one death. According to Dr Daksha Shah, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has said that the rise in cases in Mumbai remains manageable.
Although the recent deaths of a 14-year-old and a 54-year-old at KEM Hospital have raised concerns, the BMC has clarified that they were due to serious co-morbidities. In response, the BMC has ramped up healthcare capacity for critical cases, including provision for children and pregnant women amid rising respiratory problems.
