Uttar Pradesh: Today is the third day of Prayagraj Mahakumbh. Thousands of devotees took a dip with the slogan of ‘Jai Ganga Maiya’. On Tuesday, 3.5 crore devotees took a dip in the Sangam in the first Amrit (royal) bath of Mahakumbh. On Monday, on the first bath Paush Purnima, 1.65 crore people took a dip in the Sangam. Now the question must be arising in your mind that how is the government giving these figures.
Actually there are many parameters to measure the crowd, but the technology that the Yogi government is using to count the crowd is AI based. AI based CCTV cameras are estimating the number of people present in the crowd. About 1800 cameras have been installed in the entire Kumbh Mela area, out of which 1100 are permanent cameras while more than 700 are temporary cameras and most of these cameras are AI based.
A special team is assessing the crowd of people taking a dip every hour at 48 ghats. Crowd counting was rehearsed several times before the Mahakumbh started. The crowd capacity is being assessed on a real-time basis at the 48 ghats of Mahakumbh.
Every hour a team of experts assesses the crowd at all 48 ghats. Apart from this, the crowd density is also being measured in a certain radius through drones and then it is sent to this crowd assessment team. Apart from this, there is a dedicated app which is tracking the average number of mobiles in the hands of the people present in the fair.
According to the fair administration, there is a dedicated team to monitor the crowd density which is connected to the command center and sends the latest status of the crowd to the Control and Command Center in real time, this is also a big medium to measure the scale of the crowd. Apart from this, the local intelligence unit is also sending its estimate of the crowd to the government in the old way, the traditional method of measuring the crowd is also being used.
