Ludhiana: It took three and a half months for the Jodhewal police to register a case of sexual assault and blackmailing a woman. The accused was accused of deceiving, blackmailing, and drugging her. The victim filed a complaint on November 15, 2025, and the police registered a case on Saturday on charges of rape and fraud.
The victim, a resident of the city, told police that the accused, Prohit Kumar Singla, a resident of Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, claimed to be single and had a relationship with her, even though he was already married. She alleged that he had physical relations with her and took their wedding photos.
She alleged that the man claimed to be his wife in a passport application and extorted money from her. He also blackmailed her by showing her obscene photos and gave her drugs. Investigating officer Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Balkar Singh said that after the case was registered, further investigation has been initiated and raids are underway to arrest the suspect.
