Ludhiana: On Friday, a woman in Kanian Hussaini village, Sidhwan Bet, reportedly consumed poison after being harassed and threatened. She was declared dead at the hospital. Police have registered a case against a man. The suspect has been identified as Arshdeep Singh alias Arsh, a resident of the village. Police are conducting raids to arrest him. The woman’s husband, in a complaint to the police, alleged that the suspect had been harassing his daughter for the past few days, causing her mental stress.
At around 8 a.m. on Friday, the suspect called and claimed he had a call recording of his daughter. He threatened to make the recording viral if she didn’t marry him. Later, the man also called and threatened the victim. The mother of the deceased alleged that her daughter had also told the suspect that she would consume poison if he didn’t stop harassing her. The man reportedly responded indifferently and said he didn’t care. Later, his daughter swallowed the poison. Upon receiving the information, the girl was taken to a village clinic. Doctors referred her to a hospital due to her critical condition. While the family was taking her to a hospital in Moga district, she died on the way.
