Ludhiana: Two people including a teenager arrested for smuggling heroin
Ludhiana: Police Commissionerate’s CIA-2 arrested two persons yesterday and recovered 100 grams of Heroin from them. The suspects have been identified as Jatin Sidhu, a resident of Valmiki Mohalla, and his accomplice, a juvenile. CIA in-charge Inspector Rajesh Sharma said that while he was patrolling between Samrala Chowk and Basti Jodhewal Chowk with the police party, ASI Jaswinder Singh received information that Jatin Sidhu was procuring Heroin from drug suppliers of other districts and supplying it to his customers in the city. According to the information, Jatin had also kept a juvenile with him to supply Heroin in retail to his customers in the city.
When Jatin was standing on the road in New Madhopuri to deliver Heroin to his customers, the CIA team raided and nabbed the suspect with 100 grams of Heroin. Inspector Sharma said that based on his disclosure in the initial interrogation, his accomplice, a juvenile resident of New Shimlapuri, has also been arrested. The CIA in-charge said that Kishore’s father is already in jail in a drug smuggling case. Earlier, Jatin used to work at a garment shop in Akalgarh market, while Kishore worked as a salesman at a shop in Gandhi Nagar. At present, both the accused were involved in the drug smuggling business. Now police remand of both will be sought from the court, so that in further investigation the entire drug supply gang can be exposed and the big people involved in this gang can be caught. The police will also find out about the customers to whom they used to supply heroin and legal action can also be taken against them. A case was registered against both of them on Saturday.
