Ludhiana: Pay property tax today to avoid penalty

Ludhiana: Officials stated that December 31st is the last day to pay property taxes for the current financial year without any penalty. Mayor Inderjit Kaur appealed to residents to pay property taxes on time. Civic officials explained that the department imposes a 10% penalty on tax payments from January 1st to March 31st. If property taxes are not paid by March 31st, the penalty increases to 20%, along with 18% annual interest.

Urging residents to pay their dues on time, Mayor Kaur stated that they can pay taxes online by visiting MC Zonal Facilitation Centers or through the civic body’s official website: mcludhiana.gov.in. Officials also stated that bulk messages are being sent to residents urging them to pay their taxes on time. Senior Deputy Mayor Rakesh Parashar held a meeting with officials regarding this matter at the MC Zone D office on Tuesday. He directed officials to expedite the recovery of dues. Property Tax Superintendent, Inspector and Clerk attended the meeting.
