Ludhiana news: Woman arrested with narcotic pills
Ludhiana: Jagraon Sadar police on Sunday arrested a woman smuggler and recovered 420 narcotic pills from her possession. The suspect has been identified as Charanjit Kaur alias Manu, a resident of Sidhwan Bet, Ludhiana. Investigating officer ASI Harpal Singh said that on June 16, he was on routine patrol in Janetpura village with a police party. On suspicion, the police asked a woman from the village to stop. But instead of stopping, the woman started running. She had a polythene bag in her hand, which she threw in the bushes on the roadside. The women policemen in the police party chased the suspect and managed to catch her. The ASI said that later the polythene bag thrown by the woman in the bushes was examined, from which 420 narcotic pills were recovered. A case has been registered against the woman under the NDPS Act. The ASI said that her police remand will be sought for further interrogation and to bust the entire drug supply line.
