LPG tanker collides with flyover, creates chaos

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: A tanker carrying liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) collided with a side wall of a flyover in Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district on Thursday morning, causing gas leakage from the vehicle. The officers provided this information.

To avoid any untoward incident, police have appealed to people living within 500 meters of the incident site not to turn on their cooking stoves.

As a precautionary measure, vehicular movement was stopped in the area and power supply was cut, officials said.

According to a police official, the tanker collided with the crash barrier at the entry point of the flyover in CIDCO Chowk area on Jalna Road at around 5 am and got damaged, resulting in gas leakage.

The fire department team reached the spot and showered water on the tanker.
The police and fire department have appealed to people living within 500 meters of the incident site not to light cooking stoves.

“We are trying to transfer the gas from the tanker to another vehicle to control the leak,” a police officer said. The road has been blocked for traffic and power supply has also been cut.”
