Lowang inspected flood-affected Deomali and issued instructions for immediate restoration measures.

DEOMALI: Environment & Forest Minister Wangki Lowang conducted an extensive inspection of several roads and bridges affected by the recent flash floods in Deomali subdivision of Tirap district.
The minister was accompanied by Deomali Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) B Tawsik during the inspection.
Unprecedented flash floods have caused widespread devastation across the area, severely damaging road infrastructure, bridges, and communication links in several villages and localities. The destruction has significantly disrupted transportation and affected the daily lives of the people.
During the inspection, the minister and the ADC assessed the extent of the damages and interacted with officials concerned regarding the restoration of essential infrastructure.
Expressing concern over the losses incurred, Lowang stated that restoring connectivity and ensuring smooth delivery of public services would be the government’s immediate priority.
The minister directed the departments concerned to prepare and implement urgent restoration measures at the earliest.
He emphasised the need for coordinated efforts among all line departments to expedite repair works and restore normalcy in the affected areas.
Reassuring the public of the government’s commitment to their welfare, Lowang assured that all possible assistance would be extended to mitigate the hardships faced by the affected communities, and to strengthen infrastructure against future natural calamities.
The district administration and the departments concerned have already initiated preliminary assessment and are working towards early restoration of damaged roads, bridges, and other essential public infrastructure.
