Bhubaneswar: A Low pressure area has been formed over the North Bay of Bengal, informed the regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) today adding that it likely to trigger heavy to very heavy rainfall in Odisha.
The weather department has issued both yellow and orange warnings over several districts of the State saying that the rainfall activity will continue till 8.30 AM of August 30.

Day 1 (Valid upto 8.30 AM of 26.08.2024):
Orange warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore and Bhadrak.
Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Angul, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Malkangiri and Koraput.
Day 2 (Valid from 8.30 AM of 26.08.2024 to 8.30 AM of 27.08.2024):
Orange warning: Heavy to very heavy rainfall (7 to 20cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, and Jharsuguda.
Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Sonepur, Bolangir, Nuapada, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, and Sambalpur.
Day 3 (Valid from 8.30 AM of 27.08.2024 to 8.30 AM of 28.08.2024):
Light to moderate rain/thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Odisha.
Day 4 (Valid from 8.30 AM of 28.08.2024 to 8.30 AM of 29.08.2024):
Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Nuapada, Balangir, Nawarangpur, Malkangiri and Koraput.
Day 5 (Valid from 8.30 AM of 29.08.2024 to 8.30 AM of 30.08.2024):
Yellow Warning: Heavy rainfall (7 to 11cm) very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Boudh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada and Balangir.
