Loknath got the rights to the ancestral land as soon as the Foti process was completed

Under ‘Sushasan Tihar’, prompt, transparent and accountable services are being provided to the citizens in the district. The objective of this campaign is not only to ensure the reach of the government to the common man, but also to provide easy solutions to public problems pending for years. In this sequence, Shri Loknath, a resident of village Kevrapali of Basna development block, got the rights to his ancestral land as soon as the Foti process was completed.

In the first phase of Sushasan Tihar, Loknath, father late Krishnaprasad, had applied for ownership of 176 hectares of land located in village Kevrapali. This land was earlier registered in the name of his father Krishnachandra. After his death, under the Land Rights Scheme of the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, the land was transferred to Loknath’s name by following the legal process. Basna Tehsildar Mamta Thakur played an active role in this entire process. She herself went to the spot and completed the process of ‘Foti’ – in which the actual condition, possession and boundaries of the land are checked – and after that the land was demarcated. Loknath was duly handed over the relevant Khasra and B-One documents only after the completion of the Foti process.

Loknath became emotional on receiving the rights to his ancestral land. He said that this was the moment he had been waiting for for years. After a long wait and continuous efforts, when he received the certificate of his rights, his eyes filled with tears. He expressed deep gratitude towards this initiative of the government and said that this step is a new ray of hope not only for him but for many people like him.
