The police has taken major action against those selling illegal liquor. The police team has recovered a huge stock of liquor. The accused had brought liquor from Madhya Pradesh to sell on Diwali and had hidden it in a farm house. The police has seized about 532 boxes of liquor, the value of which is said to be more than 34 lakhs. In fact, under “Operation Vishwas” in the district, action is going on against the Kochis who sell illegal liquor. In this sequence, the police got information that a large quantity of MP liquor has been dumped in the district to supply it to the surrounding areas after the Dussehra festival. On the evening of October 13, the police team led by SDOP Bhatapara cordoned off the village Kesda and raided the farmhouse. Meanwhile, the entire house was searched by the police team, in which 80 boxes of English Goa liquor, 28 boxes of country liquor masala liquor, a total of 108 boxes of liquor were found in the first room of the farmhouse. Similarly, on searching the second room, 424 boxes of English Goa liquor were found. Thus in the entire operation A total of 532 liquor boxes including 504 boxes of English Goa liquor and 28 boxes of Desi liquor masala were recovered. Thus, 4788 bulk liters of liquor have been seized in the entire operation, whose market value is 34,30,000.
