Patna (IANS) | In Bihar’s Bagaha, 14 people have been arrested for detaining police and excise department employees who went to raid against the liquor mafia. An officer said that the accused also misbehaved with the woman constable.
On Wednesday night, a team of District Police and Excise Department arrested a woman Gayatri Devi from Dhadauli Dhangar Toli village with four liters of country liquor.
The team made Gayatri Devi sit in a police van to take her to the police station. Meanwhile, the villagers attacked them and rescued the accused. They also captured the entire police team which was headed by Inspector Prabhunath Singh.
When the senior police officers got information about this, they sent a large number of police force from Patkhauli Outpost, Naurangia Police Station and Lockaria Police Station to Dhadoli Dhangar Toli village, which rescued the team.
We have registered an FIR against Gayatri Devi and other accused, said an officer of the Lokaria police station. 14 people have been arrested in this case.
