Liquor carts attacked the police post, there was a huge commotion

Korba. Villagers protested against the police for taking action against illegal liquor sale in Korba. A large number of villagers reached Jatga police post in protest. Where the villagers had a dispute with the police. The dispute escalated so much that there was a scuffle between the villagers and the police.

This entire matter is of Jatga Chowki Police under Katghora police station. Actually, Jatga Chowki Police had received information about making and selling illegal Mahua liquor. Based on the information, the police conducted raids on Wednesday night. Police seized liquor from the spot and took some people to Jatga Chowki police station. The police took action against the arrested accused under the sections of illegal liquor sale and liquor manufacturing.

Since it was a bailable offence, the police had released the accused on bond. But when village sarpanch Pati Narayan Markam and other villagers came to know about this, a large number of villagers followed the police team straight to the post. The villagers protested against the government’s action saying that tribal families are allowed to keep liquor.
