Leopard attacked young man, tore his nose from the middle

Manendragarh. A young man who had gone to graze cattle was attacked by a leopard in Gram Panchayat Mohantola under Bahrasi forest range of MCB district on Friday. Hearing the noise of the young man, his buffaloes reached the spot and stood in front of the leopard. Due to this the leopard escaped and the shepherd’s life was saved.

According to the information, youth Rajesh Kumar Singh (30), resident of Gram Panchayat Mohantola, had gone towards the forest outside the village to graze his cattle on Friday morning. He was grazing cattle, meanwhile a leopard attacked Rajesh Kumar Singh. The leopard’s paw touched the young man’s face and hand. Rajesh got scared by the sudden attack and started shouting loudly.

After attacking, the leopard stood at a distance. Meanwhile, hearing the voice of their shepherd, the buffaloes grazing nearby came in front of the leopard. Seeing the buffaloes being aggressive, the leopard did not dare to attack again and ran away from there. After this the leopard entered the nearby pigeon pea field. It has been claimed that there were two leopards there. One leopard ran away after seeing the young man and the other leopard attacked the young man.

Rajesh Kumar Singh was brought to Janakpur Community Health Center by the villagers, where he is being treated. Leopard claw marks can also be seen on Rajesh’s hands and face. In the matter, Forest Range Officer Indrabhan Patel said that the Forest Department team had reached the spot as soon as information about the incident was received. The animal’s footprints will be inspected. The Forest Department team is continuously touring the area.

Earlier too, a man-eating leopard had been caught from Bahrasi area. This leopard had killed two people and tried to take away a child. Leopards both live and roam in the area. The Forest Department has alerted the people of the area.
